NCD Alliance East Africa

Our Projects

WDF Project (WDF 22-1892):
A transformative 3-year project addressing diabetes and other NCDs across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and Zanzibar. Through strategic media engagement, community outreach, and creative professionals like artists and musicians, the project has trained over 250 media personnel, reached more than 20,000 students and 1000 teachers in 6 countries, and developed tailored advocacy materials. Goals include building media capacity, creating inclusive advocacy platforms, and fostering partnerships to drive systemic change. This project is being supported by the World Diabetes Foundation

CISU Project:
A 4-year initiative (since 2023) that focuses on advocacy within the East African Community. Supported by CISU through DNCDA, it aims to drive increased investments and policy development for comprehensive NCD care across all member states.

Regional Advocacy Track (with NCDA):

This track works with regional NCD alliances to strengthen coalition-building and advocacy efforts. It ensures effective linkages between national, regional, and global mobilization in preparation for the UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs in September 2025.
